Jeff R. Dillard Principal
Jeff R. Dillard is a founding Principal of Tailwind Advisors and a seasoned investment professional with years of experience in business administration.
In addition to his work at Tailwind, Jeff serves as President of Cobra Oil & Gas Corporation in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jeff is a member of the Chancellor's Advisory Council at TCU, and a partner in Fort Construction, LP as well as Sidonian Partners, LP in Fort Worth. He is also a co-owner of Falls Distributing Company, a shareholder and Director of Property Damage Appraisers Inc. (PDA) and organizer, shareholder and Director of Fidelity Bank in Wichita Falls.
Jeff is a member of the World Presidents' Organization, a Certified Professional Landman and former President of the North Texas Association of Professional Landmen. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for All Saints Episcopal School of Fort Worth. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1981 with a BBA specializing in Petroleum Land Management. Jeff, his wife and children live in Fort Worth.
Stewart Henderson Principal
A Principal and co-founder of Tailwind Advisors, Stewart Henderson brings extensive experience in banking, investments and other financial services to the Tailwind team.
From 1992 to 2009, Stewart served as a Managing Director of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Fort Worth, Texas, where he coordinated J.P. Morgan resources to provide asset allocation, investment management, trust & estate, fiduciary and credit advice to ultra high net worth clients. He also served as President of JPMorgan Chase Bank for the Fort Worth market for a portion of this time. Prior to joining the Private Bank, Stewart was a Vice President in the JPMorgan Chase Middle Market banking group in downtown Dallas. He began his career in 1981 at First National Bank in Dallas, serving in the Metroplex Banking Group.
Stewart serves on the board of Aspen Heights, a developer and manager of student housing communities, and on the Advisory Board of BBVA Compass Bank in Fort Worth. In addition, he serves on the boards of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association and the Lena Pope Home Foundation. He is a past President and board member of Lena Pope Home, Inc. A graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Finance, Stewart resides in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and three sons.
Mark Page Principal
Mark Page is a founding Principal at Tailwind Advisors, LLC. He imparts objective advice to Tailwind families, leading the Tailwind team in building creative solutions to wealth issues of our clients.
Over his 25-plus year career in wealth management, Mark has served clients from platforms of large financial institutions as well as independent advisors, giving him a unique perspective and an unusual depth of experience. Prior to establishing Tailwind Advisors in 2009, Mark served as Senior Vice President for True North Advisors and Senior Vice President for Morgan Stanley. He started his career with Merrill Lynch in 1987. Mark serves on the Board of Directors of WealthTouch, Inc., a Denver, Colorado financial technology company. He is also a member of The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), a Cowtown Angels of Fort Worth, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Serious Air Foundation, a North Texas community foundation.
A graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in Finance and Marketing, Mark and his wife stay active in their community of Southlake, Texas with their four children. Mark continues to be active in the family office world, helping to sculpt Tailwind's vision and direction as we serve our clients with the most current, innovative solutions.
J. Searcy President - Tailwind Real Estate Equities
J. Searcy is President of Tailwind Real Estate Equities and has been active in the commercial real estate industry since 1986. He has extensive experience in the sale, leasing, and valuation of all types of commercial properties including industrial, office, retail, land developments and investment properties.
J. was previously the managing broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Searcy Vasseur Group, which consistently finished as one of the top offices in Texas based on gross sales production. He has closed over $100 million in gross sales/lease transactions and was a consistent top producer within the Coldwell Banker Commercial organization globally.
A member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the Appraisal Institute (MAI), J. has testified in state and federal courts as an expert witness. J. is a former member of Coldwell Banker Commercial's National Advisory Board, and holds a B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He resides in Fort Worth with his wife and two children and has served on several community Boards including the Presbyterian Night Shelter, DFW Center for Autism, and Easter Seals of North Texas.
Sherman S. Young President - Tailwind Oil & Gas
Sherman S. Young is President of Tailwind Oil & Gas (TOG). Sherman is a third generation energy executive who started his career as a Petroleum Landman in Midland, Texas in 1984. Over the last 27 years, Sherman has worked as a landman and independent business owner managing both oil and gas properties in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado and Mississippi.
More recently, Sherman was employed by XTO Energy Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation), as a Division Landman with areas of responsibility including the prolific Permian Basin and the Barnett Shale of North Texas. Sherman’s experience includes sourcing and evaluating producing property acquisitions and coordinating large scale oil and gas leasing programs in urban development drilling programs.
A graduate of Texas Christian University (BFA) and Baylor University (MBA), Sherman lives in Aledo, Texas with his wife and two sons. Sherman is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the Permian Basin Landman Association (PBLA), Fort Worth Wildcatters, Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen (FWAPL) and the Exchange Club of Fort Worth.
E. J. Nader Chief Financial Officer
E. J. Nader is Chief Financial Officer of Tailwind Advisors as well as Tailwind Oil & Gas (TOG), Tailwind Real Estate Equities (TREE) and all of their affiliates. E. J. played an integral role in the formation of TOG’s first investment fund, Tailwind Oil and Gas Fund, LP, which initially closed in March 2012.
Prior to joining Tailwind in early 2012, E. J. was a Senior Manager in the financial services practice at KPMG LLP. During his ten years at KPMG he specialized in providing attestation and advisory services to investment advisors and funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds, credit funds, registered investment advisors, and broker-dealers. Prior to joining KPMG in 2002, he spent three years at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he worked with a number of public and private clients in the energy and technology industries.
E. J. is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his BBA in accounting and finance from Texas Christian University as well as a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. E. J. resides in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and two daughters
John Batton, CFA Chief Investment Officer
As Chief Investment Officer for Tailwind Advisors, John Batton manages investment strategy and research with acumen and experience. He is responsible for all aspects of portfolio construction and research including asset allocation, investment manager evaluation and transactional due diligence.
From 2005 to 2008 John worked for Alcon Laboratories, the world's largest eye-care company. While there, he managed the investment strategies of multi-billion dollar portfolios and was responsible for treasury activities concerning the company's capital structure. His prior work experience includes time as a Treasury Consultant at Bank of America and as a Senior Analyst in American Airlines' Revenue Management Group.
John holds a BBA in finance, a BA in Spanish linguistics, and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a CFA Charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth. John lives in Fort Worth with his wife and children.
Matthew McMahan Relationship Manager
Matthew is responsible for multiple tasks at Tailwind Advisors, LLC, with his primary time allocated to understanding and meeting our client's unique needs. Matthew coordinates family meetings and planning sessions among other family professionals while maintaining involvement in portfolio structure decisions.
From 2003 to 2009, Matthew worked at True North Advisors, LLC in Dallas, TX, where he used his extensive knowledge of investment management, estate planning, insurance and credit to serve multiple families in positioning their strategy and lifestyle to reach long-term success.
Prior to joining True North, Matthew lived in New York where he worked for the UBS Private Wealth group as an investment analyst. Matthew holds a BBA from Baylor University and is currently sitting for the CFP designation.
Abby Smith Director of Operations
Abby Smith serves as Director of Operations at Tailwind Advisors. Abby works with our advisors in all aspects of client service, driving and coordinating operational activities as a liaison between our advisors and our clients.
Prior to joining Tailwind Advisors, Abby was employed at All Saints’ Episcopal School in Fort Worth. At All Saints’ Abby worked on the Capital Campaign and later served as the Parent Relations and Special Events Manager.
Abby received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin with a minor in English. She grew up in Midland, Texas, and currently resides in Fort Worth.
Joey Bryce Investment Analyst
As an Investment Analyst for Tailwind Advisors, Joey is responsible for performing due diligence, manager performance reviews, and investment analysis. Additionally, Joey evaluates client portfolio allocations and performance.
Joey has past experience in both asset management and private equity. During the summer of 2008, Joey worked at the JPMorgan Private Bank as an analyst, where he assisted ultra high net worth families with their investment and credit needs. During 2009, Joey worked at EFO Holdings, a Dallas based private equity firm, where he analyzed distressed investment opportunities and helped prepare a portfolio company for public divestiture.
Joey holds a BBA in finance from Texas Christian University, where he sat on the University's Educational Investment Fund (EIF) as portfolio manager. He currently resides in Fort Worth Texas, and is a CFA Level III candidate.
Adam Rubinson Investment Advisor
As an Investment Advisor, Adam Rubinson focuses on cultivating and managing client relationships, as well as identifying potential clients who share similar values and goals with our families and would benefit from the Tailwind platform.
Adam previously worked for Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA) as an Investment Advisor. He contributed to the creation of innovative portfolios focused on minimizing volatility in an unstable market environment. Adam served multiple families in developing portfolio allocation models and implementing overall wealth management strategies.
Prior to his work with WFA, Adam was a professional golfer. For six years, he competed on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and various Mini Tours across the country. Adam was a member of the 2003 United States Walker Cup team as well as Captain of the 2003 United States Palmer Cup Team. His competitive nature and work ethic make him a valuable asset to the Tailwind team. Adam holds a BBA from the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. He lives in Fort Worth with his wife and children.
Hunt Woodruff Controller
Hunt Woodruff serves as Controller for Tailwind Advisors as well as Tailwind Oil & Gas (TOG), Tailwind Real Estate Equities (TREE) and all of their affiliates. Hunt is responsible for internal and operational accounting as well as financial reporting for all Tailwind entities.
Prior to joining Tailwind in June 2013, Hunt was Senior Audit Associate in the financial services attestation practice at KPMG LLP. During his tenure at KPMG he specialized in private equity, real estate loan portfolios, broker dealers and hedge funds.
Hunt is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his BBA in accounting as well as his Master of Professional Accounting from Texas Christian University. Hunt lives in Fort Worth with his wife.
